Mac n cheese bacon bombs Excellent, creamy gooey, baconey fried goodness!!! My personal take is that it would take a slightly stronger cheese like a strong cheddar to knock it up to that out of this world level, but that’s a personal preference that shouldn’t take away from a very satisfying snack! Chipotle chicken livers Spicy and deliciously creamy chicken livers in a well balanced spicy chipotle sauce. Perfect for those who like spice with a fairly mild heat. It could definitely have taken more heat and I’m sure the kitchen would accommodate if you requested it extra hot. Yet another perfect afternoon snack Mexican burger Cheesy jalapeño bomb that topped the burger was great. Really good burger patty!! Topped with spicy mince was exactly what was described on the menu. It is a deceptively large burger! The chips were disappointing, not crispy and a bit soggy but probably because it was served in a cup. Step Child burger Onion rings were cold but really crispy so it can be forgiven. Wish there was a cheese burger option. The patty itself was fairly bland, that lack of a sufficiently flavorful house sauce on the burger made it feel dry in the mouth. The toasted bun didn’t really add anything to the overall taste except to highlight the dry mouth feel, the fact that the bun fell to pieces (normally something I don’t mind) bothered me and highlighted the dry feeling. This lived up to its name and truly felt like an unloved step child of a burger. Overall it was a pleasant experience. Starters were amazing if you are going for a burger, don’t get the base version like I did, I suspect a lot more love goes into the other burgers. Cocktails were excellent. Highs and lows but I would definitely come back to try the rest of the menu. Excellent smoking area and the service was amazing.
